Mas Dicky Saya lagi buat sms alert untuk linux untuk memonitiring data trafik saya rencananya si mo buat pake hp siemens dan boleh saya tahu berapa harga modem salomon ini? soalnya mau make itegno mahalnya gak ketolong! dan ada g modem yang lebih murah yang kompatibel dengan kannel?

hi,

I don’t speak indonesian but had the same idea about recompiling with AT+CMGF=1

But it doesn’t seem to work

My main problem seems to be the solomon scmi250e dying (either green light stays on or it powers off completly)

any ideas???

Aku gak ngerti ama smstools. Tapi aku lagi nyoba Ozeki Message Server 6. trus bisa dikoneksiin ke database MySQL. Nah aku berebcana menggunakan Ozeki Message server 6, ini untuk mecoba agar pelanggan yang ngirim reques ke nomor HP ku bisa menampilkan daftar harga. Misal pelanggan ingin tau informasi tagihannya berapa dengan mengetikkan no ID dan mengirim ke no ku 0219981XX, dia akan mendapatkan tagihan dia bulan ini. Kira2 ada program yang familar dengan windows gak, sebab Ozeki Message Server 6 ini suport untuk SMS/MMS juga suport windows. trus kira2 nama programnya apa dan harganya berapa? Mohon di jawab secepatnya. via emailku juga boleh

I’m happily using Fed6 + SMS Server tools 3 + mysql + Apache
I’ve got started thanks to the help I’ve got from this forum and modified some of Dicky’s code.
However, sometimes the modem hangs (esp when I try some new AT commands with minicom). Rebooting the server doesn’t help (nothing in lsusb and in /dev/ttyA*)

when I issue a modprobe uhci-hcd I get:

My issue is basically: does somebody know how to get the solomon evo gprs usb modem to work without physically unplugging the device (rebooting doesn’t help)?

that’s one of the hardware bug of the solomon …

some tricks that i used:
- put delay in smstools
- do automatic restart smsd when you see problem

but sometimes, you just need to re-plug the modem it’s hardware issue, man!

hi,

no way to power down USB port (or even the full hub)?

I’ve tried sending “echo 0″ to the usb device, but it doesn’t work.

Restarting smsd or using delay doesn’t work.

PS: some SMS appears sent, but never reach the phone, smsd bug or network?? hard to say, nothing in log/messages or smsd.log. What’s your opinion?

Increasing idle time will give you longer uptime. But also make your smsd slower.
I haven’t found a way to restart the modem without replug.
As long as sms sent to network, it is not bug in our area.
It’s operator smsc’s issue.

I’m in Laos on fedora core 6 with solomon usb evo and sms tools 3.0.10

this config works, but smsd bugs quite often. Would you change anything or is there nothing I can do (speed is not so much of an issue for now).

best solution for gsm modem is using bluetooth mobile phone and bluetooth dongle.
much more reliable and stable …
